a labor of love
For as long as we can remember, conversations with our grandparents, parents, siblings and now adult children have revolved around food – the tending, cooking and preserving of fresh fruit and vegetables grown in our gardens.
Our garden, like our marriage, has grown each year – from tomato and basil pots on the back deck to a ten thousand square foot garden, one acre orchard and a small vineyard at our historic home, Riverview, in Virginia.
fresh produce grown on a slice of history
Riverview Farm and Winery, launched in 2023, provides us the opportunity to share our beloved hobby with you and to enjoy a new professional adventure. After retiring from public service, Michael tends to the farm with assistance from his wife Kerry. The farm is a labor of love – and we so enjoy creating a community around food.

community-supported agriculture
What is a CSA? CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture— it’s a collaborative relationship between farmer and customer. Think of it like a veggie subscription service, but better! Your investment ensures access to the freshest seasonal produce, grown right in your community. When you purchase a CSA share, you play a key role in providing up-front seasonal costs, which support the success of the farm.
Our 2024 CSA lasts for 20 weeks starting sometime in April and ending in October (there may be a couple weeks off in August in the heat of the summer). CSA Members sign up, pay in advance and receive the bounty of our harvest. Baskets will include 5-7 items.
What’s included? A broad selection of freshly harvested seasonal fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers grown right on our farm!
“You don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients.” -Julia Child
